The US ends tariffs on steel plate from Brazil

In its 'Sunset' review, the U.S. International Trade Commission removed the 35.4% tariffs on cold-rolled steel from Brazil, while extending for five years those applied to imports of this product from China, Japan, South Korea, Great Britain, and India.

According to the Department of Commerce, the weighted average rates of anti-dumping duties on imports of cold-rolled flat steel are as follows: China: 265.8%.

  • Japan: 71.35%.

  • South Korea: 28.4%.

  • Great Britain: 25.2%.

  • India: 7.6%.

The commission determined that eliminating tariffs on all cold-rolled flat steel, except Brazilian flat steel, "would likely lead to the continuation or recurrence of concrete injury" to domestic producers.
